Stop Junk Mail

Ah junk mail. If you have an address, you get it.
But as I just learned you can stop it! (At least a good part of it.)
Direct mail marketers have an "association" they work with (If they are legit). This organization, The Direct Marketing Association (The DMA), maintains a "Mail Preference Service". It allows you to opt-out from receiving bulk junk mail. Pretty snazzy!
Once you get on the opt-out list, you stay on it for 5 years.
To register with the DMA Mail Preference Service visit: http://www.dmachoice.org/

Also, I have another Hub about stopping pre-approved credit card offers. Note: this is a separate list from the bulk mail list, so you also want to get on it.
So annoying, but so necessary.

To stop junk mail I been using www.MyJunkTree.com, it provides me with a central location in which I can stop the junk mail and solicitations from more than 1300 catalogs and more than 5000 charity/nonprofit organizations, credit card companies, banks and data brokers, and stopping the delivery of national phone books. This green site also will plant trees with each new membership. As an added convenience you can sign on the Do Not Call list and get a copy of your credit report.
