Geo Storm
66Back in the 90's, the Geo Storm was sweeping the nation. Isuzu manufactured the little automobile and was sold by General Motors from the year 1990 until 1993. They begin the line so they could sell an affordable vehicle from General Motors. They were introduced so individuals now could have an option to purchase a compact, sporty yet economical vehicle. However, the vehicle was short-lived and was discontinued in 1993. The Geo Storm was a replacement for the Geo Spectrum
Geo Storm
The Geo Storm was a down grade of the Isuzu Impulse and left off all
the expensive features that the Impulse was stacked with. When sells
slowed to a crawl for the Impulse, the car was discontinued and the Geo
went with it and both cars seen their demise in 1993. Many individuals
who still own a Geo vehicle in present day have mixed feelings about
the vehicles reliability. Some say they have never had a problem with
the vehicles ability to perform on a regular basis and when the car
began to age. Other owners will tell you they have had problems since
the day they bought the vehicle or once the vehicle began seeing
problems, it has been hard to remedy.
The Geo Storm was most common in the hatchback version. The little car
was built to handle and grip the road well, as the front suspension on
the vehicle was enhanced using an anti-sway bar build. The introduction
of the small vehicle saw reviews that stated the vehicle handled well
for such a compact, small and inexpensive car. The years from 1990
until 1993 saw the production of the vehicles changed very little from
year to year, but seen small changes from year to year none the less.
Maintaining the Geo Storm
It should be noted: Due to its short 4 year production run, it can be somewhat difficult to find replacement Geo Storm parts.
Fuel efficiency for the Geo Store is clearly what made the Geo Storm so
likable to most, aside from the affordability of the vehicle itself. A
1990 Geo Storm Model was introduced with 25 miles to the gallon in the
city, while it served up 31 miles to the gallon on the highway. These
babies were fitted with a A3 transmission and had a 1.6 liter V-4
engine. There were six different versions of the Geo Storm during this
four year span. The Geo brand has had spin offs such as the Geo Prizm
and the Geo Tracker, which both have been produced as an economical try
at a compact yet stylish vehicle, but both models fell within the same
popularity rut as did their former predecessors.
While it is true that many had their reviews and comments laced with
less than ideal intentions, vehicle handling, along with gas efficiency
and affordability received the highest praises. Many found that they
were drawn to the model of Geo's during the 1992-1993 years. These
years offered up the smoothest and most appealing looks of the Geo.
